1 · What this program is
Omega Bible Code searches the Hebrew Bible for Equidistant Letter Sequences — ELS for short. The idea is simple to state: take the Hebrew text, strip it down to a single unbroken river of letters with no spaces, vowels, or punctuation, and then read every n-th letter. If you start at a certain letter and jump forward 50 letters at a time, do the letters you land on spell a word? That skip-reading is an ELS, and the number of letters you jump — 50 in this example — is called the skip.
Two Hebrew texts are built in, selectable at any moment with the Text edition dropdown: the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC) — a meticulous electronic transcription of the oldest complete manuscript of the Hebrew Bible (dated 1008 A.D.), whose Torah contains exactly 304,850 letters and whose full Tanakh (all thirty-nine books) contains 1,197,042 — and the Koren Edition Torah of exactly 304,805 letters, the letter-text on which the famous published code findings were made. Every one of those letters is inside this program, along with the complete King James Version in English and all 8,674 entries of Strong's Hebrew Dictionary.
Searching is always done in Hebrew, because the codes concept lives in the Hebrew letter sequence — an English translation has a completely different stream of letters, so a code in one cannot exist in the other. But you never need to know Hebrew to use this program: the built-in dictionary translates your English word into its biblical Hebrew spellings, and the smart conversion helper allows you to search for modern names and dates effortlessly.
2 · Your first search in sixty seconds
- Open the program. In the English → Hebrew dictionary box, type law.
- The top suggestion is תורה — torah, "law." Click it. It drops into the Hebrew term field.
- Leave Text edition on Leningrad Codex and Scope on Torah (Genesis–Deuteronomy); set Min skip to 50 and Max skip to 50; leave direction on Forward & backward. (This search works identically in the Koren edition, by the way — try both.)
- Press Search.
- In the results dropdown, choose the hit that starts at Genesis 1:1. The matrix opens: your term stands out in red, one letter per row at width 50, so it reads as a straight vertical column.
- Click any red letter. Below the matrix, its complete verse appears in Hebrew and English with its exact book, chapter, and verse.
You have just reproduced the most famous ELS in existence — and you now know how to run every search this program can do, because all of them follow that same rhythm: choose a term → set the scope and skips → search → pick a result → read the matrix.
3 · Famous findings you can reproduce right now
These are the demonstrations that made this subject famous. Every one of them has been verified, letter by letter, against the exact text inside this program — so each will work on your screen exactly as described. Alongside them you'll find two famous claims that don't reproduce here, and the reasons why are just as instructive as the successes.
3a · The five-book Torah pattern
This is the demonstration Rabbi Michael Weissmandl found by hand in the 1940s — counting letters on paper, decades before computers. Starting from the first ת (tav) in Genesis and reading every 50th letter spells תורה — "Torah." The same thing happens in Exodus. In Numbers and Deuteronomy the word appears again near the beginning of each book — but spelled backwards. And in Leviticus, the center book, the divine name יהוה (YHWH) appears at a short skip right at the book's opening. The traditional way of describing the pattern: the Torahs in the outer books all point inward, toward the Name at the center.

3b · A cluster with thousands of members — the lesson hiding in plain sight
You will get roughly 3,900 clusters, including dozens of true crossing intersections where the two words share a physical letter (shown in teal). Torah and Moses, intertwined thousands of times! Before drawing conclusions, look at the statistics line: the program will tell you that chance alone predicts almost exactly that many. Two short, common words must intersect constantly in a 300,000-letter text. This single search teaches you more about how to judge Bible code claims than any book on the subject — remarkable-looking convergences are the default, not the exception, and only the comparison against expectation tells you whether you've found anything unusual.
3c · The famous Rabin matrix — reproduce it, then watch it vanish
The finding that put Bible codes on the front page: Michael Drosnin's 1997 book opened with יצחקרבין (Yitzhak Rabin) found at skip 4,772 in the Torah, crossed by a phrase he rendered "assassin who will assassinate" — found before Rabin's 1995 assassination. Your program can reproduce this exactly — and then teach you the deepest lesson in the whole subject.
Nothing is wrong with either text. The Koren edition (304,805 letters) and the Leningrad Codex (304,850 letters) differ by a few dozen spelling variants. A single extra letter early in the text shifts every skip sequence after it, so an ELS that exists at skip 4,772 in one edition is scrambled in the other. The most famous Bible code in history is edition-dependent.
3d · The base-rate demonstrations
Two searches every user should run once:
- היטלר (Hitler) at skips 2–3,000 in the Torah: about 400 occurrences.
- השואה (the Shoah/Holocaust) at skips 2–1,000: over 2,000 occurrences.
Are these prophetic? The expected-by-chance figure next to each count answers it: five-letter words at wide skip ranges are simply that common.
4 · Every feature, step by step
Searching for Modern Names and Dates (The Smart Converter)
If you want to search for non-biblical terms (like your own name or a specific year), you can use the automated English Name / Year Helper directly in the application. This is a smart, 4-tier engine:
- Type your terms: Type any English word, modern name, or a 4-digit Gregorian year (e.g., Stephen 2026).
- The Smart Check: When you click Convert →, the tool will:
- Automatically calculate the Hebrew calendar year for dates (e.g., 2026 becomes 5786, resulting in תשפו בתשפו).
- Check an internal list of irregular English names (to ensure "Stephen" accurately becomes סטיבן instead of a strict phonetic guess).
- Scan the entire offline 8,674-word dictionary. If you type a real English word like "peace", it bypasses phonetics and grabs the true Biblical Hebrew spelling automatically.
- Fallback to phonetic letter-swapping for completely unlisted modern names.
- Automation: The program will instantly translate your inputs, expand your search net to a maximum skip of 10000 across the entire Tanakh, and automatically execute the correct search (a standard search for single words, or a cluster search for multiple words).
Entering a search term manually
- Dictionary lookup (easiest): type an English word into the dictionary box. Suggestions appear as you type. Click one to load it.
- On-screen bilingual keyboard: click Hebrew letters directly. The keys are labeled with the English letter names (Aleph, Bet, Gimel, etc.) to assist non-Hebrew readers. The field automatically handles right-to-left formatting.
- Multiple terms at once: separate terms with spaces or commas. All are searched in one pass.

Choosing your text edition — Leningrad or Koren
This program is one of very few anywhere that carries both great codices of ELS research built in.

Loading any other edition yourself
The Load edition file button accepts a further Torah edition of your own as a plain .txt file, in either format (lines beginning with # are comments):
- Referenced format — each line as "book chapter verse letters" (book 1–5), carrying its own verse references.
- Plain format — one verse per line in WLC verse order (5,853 lines).
The matrix
- The text wraps at the row width (default: your hit's skip, so the term appears as a vertical column).
- Click any letter to read its complete verse in Hebrew and King James English, with the exact reference and letter position.
- Find another term in this matrix searches the visible window at every small skip and highlights what it finds in gold.
- Optimize grid automatically finds the row width that packs your highlighted terms into the smallest possible block — the compactness measure professional ELS research uses to judge a match.
- Analyze significance runs a Monte Carlo test on the current cluster (see below).
- Phonetics toggles a Romanized pronunciation line beneath the Hebrew in the verse panel, so non-Hebrew readers can sound the words out.
5 · Cluster searching — the "intersects" feature
The claims that made Bible codes famous were never about single words; they were about convergences — two or more related terms found crossing or adjacent in the same matrix. This program automates that hunt honestly.
- Enter two or more terms separated by spaces or commas.
- Set the cluster proximity: the maximum distance, in letters of the plain text, that the terms may sit apart. Tight proximity (50–200) demands genuinely close convergence.
- Press Find clusters.
- The dropdown ranks every place all your terms converge — true crossings first (marked ✚, where two terms share a physical letter).
- Select a cluster: the matrix opens with your anchor term in red, partners in gold, and shared letters in teal.
Analyze significance — the two p-values
Open any cluster's matrix and press Analyze significance. The program runs a Monte Carlo permutation test — hundreds of random trials — and reports two p-values:
- Term-shuffle (teal bar — the honest test): keeps the real Hebrew text completely intact and replaces your partner term(s) with random letter-strings of the same length, then asks how often arbitrary strings cluster with your main term as tightly as your real terms do. This is the defensible measure of whether your specific find is special.
- Letter-shuffle (red bar — the inflated test): scrambles the entire Torah into random letter-order, then re-searches your real terms. This almost always yields a dramatically tinier p-value, because destroying Hebrew word-structure makes any real cluster look miraculous.
6 · The nerdy part: how the mathematics works
The text is one string of N letters (304,850 for the Torah). For a term of length L and a skip d, the program tests every occurrence of the term's first letter as a potential start, then checks whether the letters at positions i+d, i+2d, … i+(L−1)d match the rest. This brute-force scan runs in a background Web Worker.
The expected-count formula
If letters were drawn at random with the same frequencies the text actually has, how many times would your term appear by luck alone?
A four-letter word of common letters can have p ≈ 1-in-30,000 — which sounds rare until you notice a single skip offers ~300,000 starting positions, and you searched two thousand skips.
7 · Reading results honestly
This program will show you astonishing things. All of it is really in the text — the letters are exactly where the program says they are. The question the mathematics cannot answer for you is whether a pattern was placed there or emerged there, and the one discipline this guide asks of you is to look at the expected-by-chance figure before deciding a result is remarkable.
